The Jewellery Show, with conference and exhibition space, expects to welcome approximately three hundred suppliers and designers and 6000 attendees. In a time of upheaval and as retailers look to stay ahead of the market, the show will be built around practical and inspirational content. In addition, the biggest line up of exhibiting companies the show will also deliver a much-needed combination of business seminars and design showcases, including a Best-in-Class Catwalk. This will become a central feature and showcase a mix of the leading international brands and the most highly regarded established and emerging designers.

Lennox Addo, with twenty years of experience in the jewellery and fashion events industry, has partnered with the UK’s leading exhibition company CloserStill Media to launch the show. Commenting on the partnership Lennox Addo explains why he chose to approach CloserStill, “Anyone who has worked in the UK exhibition industry in the last ten years will tell you CloserStill are at the top of the Premier League in this. They have launched more successful events and won more industry plaudits than any other company – in fact more than probably any two or three other exhibition companies!

Their track record of understanding markets and delivering the right mix of ingredients to make a show work made them top of my list as an event partner. They are big enough to back me and give the guarantee of realizing the dream of this event and expert and experienced enough to make sure it’s the right event. Moreover, their experience and handling of their extensive portfolio throughout the coronavirus pandemic means they are abreast on how to ensure the event can run safety”.

In the last decade, CloserStill has been behind a series of the most successful event launches, two of which are now being amongst the UK’s top ten largest annual trade shows. Co-founder of CloserStill Media, Phil Nelson comments, “It’s rare to meet someone (like Lennox) with the passion and understanding of a market. We love his integrity and commitment to delivering the best possible event. We are completely committed to backing his event concept and providing whatever it takes to make it work. And delivering an event for which there is a clear market need. We have experience working with major venues and industry bodies to ensure the event can run in the safest possible way”

Nelson continued, “There is a consensus that large events will be able to run in a meaningful way by September, especially with the ongoing positive news on vaccine roll out. We have also developed, with the venue, a clear strategy to ensure we can deliver a safe and effective event. These plans are being developed as the situation evolves and we learn more from our experiences internationally as well as in the UK” This will provide comfort for those wanting to get involved as Hitin Shah of Pravins takes reassurance from this “a trade show does need a competent organiser behind it. Especially now”.

Addo adds, “The last twelve months have seen unbelievable challenges, and changes and the industry will never be the same again. We are building a programme of business seminars to help retailers navigate the future. Interpreting the technology available and showcasing those who are leading by example. Providing practical knowhow and advise”

Industry professionals have welcomed the announcement. In particular, emphasising the need to get together and see in-person the jewellery that will form part of their stock in the lead in to the next Christmas sales period. Trevor Salt of Thurlow Champness and Son comments, “Jewellery is difficult to see online and easier to buy when you can see and touch the product. There needs to be (a major event) for the jewellery trade. I’ve certainly missed attending”.

Alexandra Robson, CEO and founder of Augustine Jewels speaks for many in welcoming this announcement, “The UK definitely needs a show! And suppliers definitely need a showcase. Well done to you!”

Church adds, “There is a need for a jewellery show…there is a lack of opportunity to browse quality new brands and designers” The catwalk and the exhibitor line up will be designed to meet this need.

Andrew Morton of Domino reflects the comfort and assurance this gives suppliers backing the event, “it will be beneficial for suppliers to have a showcase and it makes sense to have an experienced organiser to run an event of this nature”.

The floorplan for the Jewellery Show has now been released for companies interested in participating to express interest. In addition, those who want to nominate themselves or someone in the industry to be part of the speaker programme or who are interested in partnering with the event should contact the CloserStill Media Team.
